Dr. Jacobson has practiced prosthodontics since 1980 in San Francisco and has at times maintained satellite offices in San Mateo and Santa Rosa. A unique feature of his practice is that the San Francisco office includes an “in house” dental laboratory. Technicians trained in the various fields of laboratory procedures custom fabricate the fixed and/or removable, metal and/or ceramic, conventional and/or implant supported crowns and bridges exclusively for patients of Dr. Jacobson. The “in house” laboratory enables patients to meet with the ceramist regarding cosmetic considerations including tooth size, shape and color.
For over 20 years Dr. Jacobson has collaborated with his ceramist on our patients’ behalf to ensure that the esthetic results of restored teeth is optimal. Repairs and modifications of existing prostheses and restorations may be completed on the premises in a timely and efficient manner. In addition to our technical staff, Dr. Jacobson’s front desk appointment coordinator and chairside assistants are available to provide attentive, comfortable and efficient scheduling, billing assistance and administrative support.
The current San Francisco office was designed and completed in 2004. It includes all new laboratory and operatory equipment, instruments and materials. Each treatment room is equipped with dental restorative units featuring “state of the art” handpieces, adjunct lighting and equipment. Computer hardware and software were recently updated as were intra oral digital cameras, digital xrays and operatory monitors. Exceptional patient comfort features such as customized audiovisual entertainment, comfortable dental chairs and warm moist towelettes help to enhance the overall treatment experience.
Dr. Jacobson and his staff are fully compliant in exceeding the current state and federal HIPPA & OSHA requirements, including maximum sterilization protocols to protect and preserve the health of our patients. Dr. Jacobson maintains a dental hygienist in order to provide ongoing periodontal maintenance for patients following completion of definitive restorative or periodontal therapy. Patients may also elect to return to their referring dentist for ongoing routine periodontal maintenance or decide to alternate such recalls between the referring dentist and our office.
