Theodore E. Jacobson D.D.S.
Dr. Jacobson completed his undergraduate education majoring in Classical Language at Tufts University in Boston in 1972. He graduated first in his class from Georgetown Dental School in 1976 as a member of the National Dental Honor Society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon. He completed a three year residency program at the VAMC and UCSF in Prosthodontics in 1979. Since then Dr. Jacobson has maintained a private practice that is devoted to cosmetic, preventive, and prosthetic dentistry, including implants. He has served as an Assistant and/or Associate Clinical Professor for 36 years in the Department of Prosthodontic and Restorative Dentistry at UCSF.
Dr. Jacobson is also a member and/or Fellow of the San Francisco Dental Society, California Dental Association, Academy of Prosthodontics, American College of Prosthodontists, Pacific Coast Society for Prosthodontics, and American College of Dentists. He is the past president of the Pacific Coast Society for Prosthodontics and the California Section of the American College of Prosthodontists.
Dr. Jacobson has presented numerous continuing education programs and clinics both nationally and internationally. He has published extensively in referenced, peer reviewed scientific journals. Dr Jacobson has authored a textbook used at many dental schools, and has served as the mentor for several study clubs designed to provide continuing education for dentists interested in prosthetic and reconstructive dentistry. Since 1980 Dr. Jacobson has presented numerous scientific papers before various dental organizations and has lectured during over 500 full day continuing dental education courses to groups of dental professionals in the fields of fixed, removable and implant prosthodontics.
Dr. Jacobson is often asked to review records and evidence involved in dental malpractice litigation and provide opinions and expert witness testimony. His extensive teaching credentials, knowledge of the scientific dental literature, and experience treating thousands of patients in private practice substantiate his credibility as an unbiased advisor and evaluator of the “Standard of Care” practiced by dentists state and nation wide.
